On May 4 and May 5, EFEE delegates travelled to Kinsale, Ireland, to participate in a workshop on the topic of environmental sustainability in education. During these two days, the Kinsale Community School hosted an ACCS (Association of Community & Comprehensive Schools) conference on “Managing a Sustainable Green and Digital Transition in Education in Ireland” first and the Social Dialogue between the European Commission and the education social partners on the following day.
The Social Dialogue was part of the first Peer Learning Activity of the project “European Social Partners in Education Promoting Environmental Sustainability in School Learning, Teaching and Management” which was held at Kinsale Community School and Kinsale College of Further Education & Training Service with guest speakers representing all sides of the spectrum: teachers, students and management. Both events complemented each other pleasantly and allowed for a deeper dive in the topic of environmental sustainability in schools.
The lessons learnt from this workshop will be reflected in the final report of the project which will be elaborated by Mr Paddy Duggan, the project’s external expert researcher.
