On 10 February 2020, EFEE attended the Liaison Forum of the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL), which took place in Brussels. The Liaison Forum brings together EU cross-industry and sectoral social partners to discuss the latest developments in the field of social dialogue.
The Liaison Forum opened with an in-depth overview of the Commission’s Work Programme 2020, which was published on 29 January 2020. Subsequently, the Update on the Skills Agenda was addressed by several stakeholders, including the European Commission, the Croatian Presidency, Business Europe and several sectoral social partners. The Updated Skills Agenda is projected to be published in the second half of March 2020. Following these presentations, an update was given by the Commission on their OSH initiatives for 2020 and beyond. As a final highlight, a representative from EU-OSHA presented their “Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2020-2022: Lighten the load”, which raises awareness for musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) in the workplace.
