The HigherED4Industry project, titled Sustainable competitiveness in the twin transition through higher education staff acquisition – academia-industry collaboration and hybrid careers supporting experienced professionals in accessing the teaching and research professions in HE in Europe (read more here), is excited to announce its second event, a workshop to be held in Helsinki, Finland.

Organized alongside our project partner, the Finnish Education Employers (Sivista), this workshop will take place from Wednesday, 2nd April to Thursday, 3rd April 2025.

Industry and Academia: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities

Building on the success of its first Peer Learning Activity (PLA), the Helsinki Workshop will explore collaborative solutions to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Topics will include:

  • Addressing the challenges of mobility between the two sectors.
  • Supporting industry professionals in transitioning to roles in higher education and vice-versa.
  • Identifying frameworks, objectives, and good practices to foster collaboration and hybrid career opportunities.

Through dynamic discussions and knowledge-sharing, the event aims to convert shared challenges into actionable opportunities.
