EFEE has just published its official response to the European Commission’s public consultation on the post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the EU’s long-term budget strategy.
The consultation addresses future funding directions in several priority areas, such as:
- Cross-border learning and skills development
- Youth engagement, volunteering, and social solidarity
- Culture, media, and the creative economy
- Civil society, democratic values, and fundamental rights
EFEE’s response highlights the urgent need for continued—and increased—investment in education. The organisation calls for:
- Enhanced training and career support for educators
- Fair and inclusive access to international learning opportunities
- Greater focus on digital innovation in education
- Stronger cross-country collaboration to tackle shared educational challenges
EFEE also advocates for the sustained support and scaling-up of initiatives like Erasmus+, citing their proven role in fostering cooperation, professional growth, and European unity in the education sector.
We urge education stakeholders and civil society actors to take part in shaping the future of EU funding by engaging with the consultation process.
