Teacher Well-being and its Impact on the Attractiveness of the Profession
The 3rd EastSD Peer Learning Activity will take place in Podgorica, Montenegro, on 7–8 October 2026, bringing together education employers, trade unions, policymakers and education stakeholders to exchange experiences on strengthening the attractiveness of the teaching profession through social dialogue.
This edition will focus on work-related well-being and its impact on the teaching profession, building on discussions from previous EastSD activities on teachers’ working time, digitalisation and the right to disconnect. Participants will hear from Montenegrin social partners, explore relevant research and practical examples, and discuss how education systems can better support the well-being of teachers and other education staff.
A central part of the programme will be the co-creation of joint guidelines for social partners on enhancing the attractiveness of the teaching profession through strengthened social dialogue. The second day will include a school visit and a roundtable with school leadership, teachers and students, providing an opportunity to connect policy discussions with experiences from the school level.
The activity forms part of the joint EFEE–ETUCE EastSD project, which supports social dialogue and capacity building in the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries.
