The European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE) has published its contribution to the European Commission’s first-phase consultation on a possible Quality Jobs Act (QJA).
The Quality Jobs Act is a key initiative announced by the European Commission to strengthen job quality across the EU, recognising its importance for social cohesion, competitiveness, and resilience. The consultation seeks stakeholders’ views on the main challenges affecting job quality and on the potential role of EU action in addressing them.
In its contribution, EFEE welcomes the Commission’s objectives and highlights the specific realities of the education sector. The document underlines that quality jobs are a prerequisite for high-quality, inclusive, and innovative education systems, while stressing the diversity of education systems across Europe and the need to respect subsidiarity and social dialogue. EFEE also provides reflections on digitalisation and AI, telework and occupational safety and health, workload and wellbeing, skills development, and workforce planning.
