What is the EEIP? The need for a global education employer voice

The Education Employers International Partnership is EFEE’s international community for organisations outside of Europe working in education, employment and skills. It connects education employers, formal education providers, public authorities, education networks, institutions and other stakeholders who want to strengthen international cooperation and bring the voice of education employers into global education policy discussions.

Across the world, education systems are facing shared challenges, from teacher shortages and the attractiveness of the teaching profession to digitalisation, artificial intelligence, skills needs, education financing, leadership and the future of work in education. Yet, education employers remain underrepresented in many international policy spaces. The EEIP responds to this gap by creating a structured platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, representation and joint action.

Through the Partnership, international members can connect with EFEE’s European network, contribute to discussions linked to UNESCO, OECD, ILO and the UN, participate in selected EFEE activities, access networking and cooperation opportunities, and receive information on relevant funding and projects.

The EEIP is therefore building a global community committed to shaping education through cooperation, exchange and a stronger international voice for education employers.

Why the EEIP membership?

Throughout the years, EFEE has built a growing network of international stakeholders going beyond European education employers. The EEIP membership was created to formalise this network.

It brings together partners outside of Europe who wish to connect with EFEE’s work, exchange knowledge, contribute to global education discussions and engage with relevant opportunities.

Through this membership, EFEE aims to offer international partners a concrete entry point into its work at the European and global levels. EEIP members can engage with EFEE’s international policy activities, take part in selected exchanges and events and explore cooperation around common priorities.

At the heart of the EEIP membership is the connection between lobbying, policy and funding: strengthening the voice of education employers in international policy spaces, building strategic relationships with key institutions and partners, and creating opportunities for joint initiatives and projects.

Who is part of the EEIP?

The Education Employers International Partnership is open to organisations outside Europe working in the fields of education, employment, labour and skills.

This includes education employers and formal education providers, but also institutions and stakeholders that contribute to education policy, school leadership, vocational education and training, higher education, skills development and international cooperation in education.

In practice, EEIP brings together a broad community of organisations that share an interest in improving education systems. It is particularly relevant for organisations that want to connect with EFEE’s European members and network, exchange with international partners, and explore opportunities for cooperation, visibility and joint initiatives.

FUNDING

Online informative sessions for EU funding calls, including:

Erasmus+ and Horizon calls: cooperation partnerships, teacher academies, SOCPL, etc.
Calls for international partners: Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) and in Vocational Education and Training (CBVET), etc.

Guidance and assistance in:

Applying for funding – writing and submitting a project proposal.
Running an EU-funded project

NETWORKING

Online matchmaking events – hear about and discuss prospective collaboration opportunities, find partners for your projects or join projects led by EFEE and other Community members.
In-person event for international partners – held in Europe once a year, attended by Community members and OECD and UNESCO representatives.
